Here
is a painting of my
mother before she
was my mother.
While in Israel in June
2007, my cousin Hagai showed
me this photo of mama, black
and white, faded and the
size of a post stamp.
I borrowed it from him for
two weeks - he did not want
it away from his wallet for
longer - and painted it.
Nice and large and bright.
While working on mama's dear
face, I discovered it, found
my youth that was to be my
mother.
This painting will probably
be my most loved and
cherished one.
